The Animal Wealth sector of Abu Dhabi Agriculture & Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has always received generous support from the wise leadership of the emirate. This support comprised, among other things, encouragement for UAE farmers to breed cattle and care for them, as well as patronage of all sectors of the country in this segment through providing health care and giving fodder at nominal price.
The Animal Wealth sector in ADAFSA plays a dynamic role in developing and sustaining livestock in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi through varied services provided to animal breeders such as health care, feeds and advices.
The functions of the sector include diagnosis of diseases that threaten livestock, treatment for sick animals, detection and extermination of internal and external parasites, vaccination of animals against different epidemic diseases, conducting surgeries, prevention and treatment of diseases that transmit from animals to humans, Moreover, the sector also conducts annual studies on prevalent epidemic and endemic diseases and reasons for the death of animals. The sector also issues veterinary certificates for animals being exported, declaring them free of diseases.
The Animal Wealth sector has succeeded in putting in place an effective system capable of providing veterinary services, technical supervision and awareness dissemination about latest scientific know-how and advanced technological tools to provide the best health care for cattle.
