ADFCA inspects 80% Al Ain hotels during the weekend

As part of its campaigns to ensure a safe summer and fasting season, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has carried out inspections on hotels in Al Ain during this weekend.

The inspections, organized jointly by the Hotels & Events Control and Educational Institution & Hospitals Control units of ADFCA covered 80% hotels in the city.

Two hotels were given notices while five others were given warnings during the inspections aimed at ensuring that hotels follow approved food handling practices as well as the equipment used to prepare, cook and serve food were meeting with the requirements. 

In this connection, Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director, Communication & Community Service  Division of ADFCA said:- "The Summer and Ramadan seasons see huge turnout of visitors to our cities a phenomenon that necessitates extra vigil in terms of food safety. The recent spell of inspections were carried out to ensure that hotels follow approved practices in the handling of food as well as ADFCA's food safety requirements are met perfectly"

He added saying that ADFCA is following a best food control mechanism-which includes systematic inspections and educational activities- in order to maintain the high level of food safety, now the emirate of Abu Dhabi enjoys these days.

He also urged public to take extra vigil while consuming food and enjoying food related services during summer and to rush to inform authorities if any action or incident found to be posing risk to health and safety of public.
