ADFCA carries out mock fire emergency drills at its hay stock and distribution centers in Al Ain

As part of testing the preparedness for possible emergencies related firebreaks, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has recently organized mock fire evacuation drills at its hay stock and distribution centers in Al Ain.

The drills carried out with the cooperation from Civil Defense were to examine the preparedness levels according to ADFCA emergency plan developed in line with safety and environment requirements.

In this connection, Mohamed Al Fardan, Acting Director of Communication & Community Service Division at ADFCA said: "We are keen on the safety and emergency preparedness of this centers as they are comparatively vulnerable to possible fire outbreaks.  There is a comprehensive emergency plan in place in these centers and the mock drills helped us to evaluate the preparedness and effectiveness of our plan in tackling with tough situations."

"Designed to work according to the hazard levels of various situations, our plan is inclusive of a set of guidelines and an action plan to tackle the situations in addition to a program to effectively coordinate with other agencies inside the emirate of Abu Dhabi, which are concerned with emergencies such as National Emergency Crisis & Disasters Management Authority, Abu Dhabi Civil Defense General Directorate, Abu Dhabi Police, Health Authority – Abu Dhabi, Environment Agency- Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi General Services Company- Musanada, Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority, Department of Municipal Affairs and UAE Armed Forces" he explained further.

It is noted that ADFCA has already implemented its emergency plan in all its eight hay stock and distribution centers in Al Ain.
