The International Food Safety Authorities Network (INFOSAN) is a global network of national food safety authorities which has been established as a platform for sharing information about international food safety threats and best practices.
For more than 15 years, INFOSAN has facilitated the rapid exchange of information across borders and between members, during hundreds of food safety events. As a member-driven, global network, INFOSAN has proven to be a practical, effective and efficient tool for information exchange, allowing for the implementation of risk management measures to prevent foodborne illness and save lives.
INFOSAN is a joint program of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
The vision of INFOSAN is a global community of practice working together for safer food around the world.
The mission of INFOSAN is to halt the international spread of contaminated food, prevent foodborne disease outbreaks, and strengthen food safety systems globally to reduce the burden of foodborne diseases.
