Being part of programs to promote the 2016-Year Of Reading Initiative announced by The President of UAE, H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority has organized recently a program titled 'Reading Without Limits' at its headquarters located in Mohammed Bin Zayed City. The program comes as a component to the bouquet of events ADFCA designed under the theme 'ADFCA Reads' which has begun from the start of the year and will be continuing till December to support and promote President's initiative in and outside the organization.
Talks, book exhibition, presentation of literary works and other recreational activities held being part of the event organized in collaboration with several organizations such as Jarir Book Store, Roaming Literary Salon and Environment & Protected Areas Authority – Sharjah.
Dignitaries such as H.E. Rashid Khalfan Al Shariqi, Director General of ADFCA, Amna Hassan Barout, founder of Roaming Literary Salon, PoetDr. Mohmmad Ahmed Al Khaledi, and Dr. Sumaya Gulam Dahri participated in the event.
In his address to the gathering, H.E. Adil Khalfan Al Zaabi, Executive Director of Animal Wealth Sector at ADFCA stressed the importance of reading and how it should be part of our day to day life. He urged the audience to utilize the occasion of President's Year of Reading Initiative to inculcate the habit of reading and to embark on the journey of acquiring knowledge and culture.
He pointed that the government of UAE has provided people all kind of opportunities to acquire knowledge by establishing well-equipped libraries across the country which is instrumental to encourage reading.
He also explained the plans and programs ADFCA has made so far under the theme 'ADFCA Reads' in order to contribute in achieving the objectives behind the Year of Reading Initiative.
The guests also interacted with the attendees and shared their literary works before them.
