Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority held yesterday a lecture on the ill-effects of smoking under the title "Facts and Myths about Smoking." The lecture, organized as part of the Social Service Support Program, was meant to sensitize the staff about the hazards of smoking.

The lecture, delivered by Dr. Abdul Razak Al Qudur, Cardian Specialist and held in association with Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, touched upon the various health hazards as well as the behavioral and familial anomalies triggered by smoking.

The program also included free check up for the attendees to determine the level of carbon monoxide in their bodies. If carbon monoxide levels in the body exceed 6 degrees, it is considered dangerous.

At the end of the program, ADFCA honored Dr. Abdul Razak. Mohamed Jalal Al Reyaysa, Director of PR &Communication, presented him a memento honoring his cooperation with the Authority and his efforts at sensitizing the staff against the harmful effects of smoking.
