Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has conducted a training course for employees of Emirates Transport on how to examine food transporting vehicles. This is with a view to involve them in future in this type of activities as the responsibility for issuing licenses to food transporting vehicles will be transferred to Emirates Transport.
The Certificates and Licenses Department at the Field Operations Division has conducted the training which lasted four days. The training included all aspects of licensing vehicles for transporting foods, the rules and regulations in vogue and the reasons for rejection and acceptance of requests for licenses.
Mohamed Jalal Al Reyaysa, Director of Communication and Community Service at ADFCA, said that the trainers from ADFCA and the trainees from Emirates Transports had together examined, as part of the training, 90 food transporting vehicles in Abu Dhabi.
"The program involved checking all types of vehicles that transport and distribute food items. The trainees were given a comprehensive exposure to various aspects of checking such vehicles, including the required temperatures inside, the method of arranging various food items, the type of materials used inside the container and other rules and regulations governing licensing of food transporting vehicles," Al Reyaysa explained.
