ADFCA Participates at Liwa Annual Date Festival

Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) is taking part at Liwa Annual Palm Festival 2011, which is being stage at Liwa, the Western Region on July 12-21. Through its dedicated stand, ADFCA will provide partners and visitors to this event with valuable information, knowledge, and experiences on agriculture, with focus on date farming.

Mohamed Abdulla Al Fardan, Deputy Director, Communication and Community Service at ADFCA, said: �ADFCA endevours to educate the farmers and raise their farming awareness  through distributing publications such as booklets and brochures aimed to provide them with useful information on modern farming methods, latest pesticide control mechanisms (especially for fighting palm weevil), and irrigation methods.

Besides participating part at the Festival, ADFCA is taking an important role in event-associated activities. A number of its officials are members of jury committees for various contests taking place to decide on the best kinds of dates.  Al Fardan added: �ADFCA is keen to participate at all agriculture-related events taking place at the Western Region out of its belief in huge role this region plays in fueling the local agriculture. ADFCA is committed to providing world-class agricultural services and technical consultations to farmers there in line with its strategy that encompasses various projects and support programmes.�
