Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority participates in Earth Hour

 Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority has announced today its participation in Earth Hour a global annual event which aims to protect the environment, reduce global warming and regularize electricity consumption by switching off ADFCA�s electricity outlets on Saturday 31st March 2012.

Commenting on this occasion Mohamed Jalal Al Reyaysa Director of Communication and Community Service in Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, said:  �ADFCA�s participation comes from its eagerness to interact with the global community to reduce the excessive consumption of energy, reduce global warming and the environmental problems in the world�

 ï¿½The participation in Earth Hour by many of the government and private agencies in the emirate emphasises and confirms  our wise leadership�s thoughts and initiatives aimed at preserving the environment through the development of plans that will protect our nature,� He added.

The Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority will turn off all unnecessary lights, as well as all electrical appliances for one hour, in order to strengthen the values ​​of positive environmental practices and emphasize on the importance of energy conservation in the region, which is one of the best measures to address climate change in the world.

The United Arab Emirates was one of the first Arab countries to participate in the �Earth Hour� initiative in 2009.
