Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has observed the down syndrome day in association with the Al Ain Centre for Special Needs People and Al Ain Farms. This was part of the activities of Auwn, ADFCA's community service arm. The programs for the day included fun contests and gifts as well as distribution of awareness publications of ADFCA.

Mohamed Jalal Al Reyaysa, Director of Communication and Community Service at ADFCA, said the Authority's participation on the day's events was reflective of the love and concern for people with down syndrome and the support they deserved. "We must do all we can to help them excel in life and use their skills and talents to the best of their abilities. We have to provide them all incentives and encouragement to bring out their hidden energies and capacities," he added.

Al Reyaysa said the UAE had offered all possible support for such deprived sections of the society through centres for their care and other avenues of help and assistance.
