Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority showcases Emirati dates during SIAL Paris 2012
The Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority has announced its participation among the UAE national pavilion at SIAL Paris 2012, which will be held in Paris during the period from October 21st to 25th, 2012.
H.E Mubarak Ali Al Qusaili Al Mansouri, Executive Director for Agricultural Affairs, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority will be heading High profile delegate of employees and dates companies.
ADFCA presence at SIAL Paris aims to further enhance its global presence, exchange of knowledge, and to demonstrate the value of Abu Dhabi agricultural production in particular, and the UAE in general especially dates & its products; that majorly contribute to the agriculture national export to the world.
ADFCA stand will host the top five UAE�s major dates production companies, including Al Foah, Liwa Dates, Emirates Dates, Emirates Delight Dates Factory and Royal Dates. Brochures and booklet will be available in three languages Arabic, English and French to shed light on ADFCA role and responsibilities, highlighting the hosted companies and introducing dates as fruit and base material for food industry.

ADFCA�s participation will create new markets for our locally produced dates. Open doors to meet potential international buyers, introduce our distinctive date products and highlight its multiple benefits. Notably dates are our main agricultural product in the emirate. He added.
SIAL Paris attendance is ADFCA�s 3rd international events, following its recent presence at China (Ningxia) International Investment and Trade Fair 2012, the 3rd China Arab States Economic and Trade Forum, and the participation of SIAL China, where UAE dates were recognized as the best selling product. UAE has embraced its Middle East edition during the past two years in Abu Dhabi.
The United Arab Emirates has seen steady increase in the production and manufacturing of dates, where imports and exports of large quantities was valued at around $ 737.4 million dirham in 2011. The volume of its exports during 2011 was estimated by $ 112.6 million AED, while imports amounted to nearly AED 354.9 million, and the volume of re-exporting dates was valued at around 270 million AED.
SIAL Paris is a leading global food exhibition; it focuses on the challenges facing the global food industry and other related topics. SIAL Paris 2012 is expecting 140,000 professional visitors from the food industry and 6,000 French and international exhibitors from 100 different countries.
