The first Ramadan football championship held by Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) kicked off yesterday (July 22) at the Glenelg school playgrounds in Khalifa City A. The championship will last till August 5, 2012 and different teams representing various sectors of ADFCA will compete in the tournament. The championship is organized under the aegis of the Communication and Community Service Division as part of its community-oriented activities.
The teams taking part belong to two groups, with the first group representing the Animal Wealth and Agriculture Affair sectors, Strategic Planning and ADFCA Al Ain Branch whereas the second group represents Corporate Services, Food Safety, Policy and Development and the Farmers Services Centre.
Each day of the tournament will see two matches, at 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. A number of recreational and cultural activities are also held on the sidelines of the championship, giving participants and attendees many opportunities for winning prizes and gifts.
