The Statistics and Analysis Division of Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA)'s Development Sector hosted an event to honor the team working on a project for surveying commercial farms in the emirate.
The team that was honored at the event was working in association with the National Centre for Statistics and the Abu Dhabi Statistics Centre to survey commercial farms in the emirate. Dr. Tariq Al Ameri, Executive Director of the Development Sector gave away the certificates and gifts to the researchers and managers that worked on the project.
Mohamed Jalal Al Reyaysa, Director of Communication and Community Service at ADFCA, said the Authority would like to take the survey to its logical conclusion. "We look forward to seeing it online so we save precious time and efforts in future. Our objective is to have at our disposal accurate data on all aspects of commercial farms in the emirate in order to strengthen their contributions to the local market," he added.
The project was conceptualized in view of the importance of commercially run farms in the emirate to support the local markets. The survey focused on all minute aspects of the farms, including details such as the composition of farm animals, their mobility, birth and death rates and so on. It also looked at the types of animals grown in the farms in terms of their breed, age and sex, animal production rates, size of investments in those farms, the value of inputs and outputs and other aspects of the commercial farms.
