Abu Dhabi, April 4, 2011: Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) is participating in Hannover Messe 2011, the world's leading annual showcase for industrial technology staged in Hannover, Germany.

ADFCA's participation in Hannover Messe 2011, which began today and scheduled to last till April 8, assumes especial significance as it coincides with the giant strides the Authority has made in its spheres of engagement, such as the initiatives for agricultural reforms and the Animal Identification and Registration System (AIRS). Foreign investments and advanced scientific know-how in the food and farming industry are among the top objectives behind the Authority's participation at the fair

Mohamed Jalal Al Reyaysa, Director of Communications and Community Service Division, Ali Omar Abdullah Belfaqeh, Director of Regulation and Strategy and Ali Yousef Al Saad, Lead Public Relations Officer are among the delegation representing the Authority at the fair.

In 2011 the spotlight at the fair will be on industrial automation, energy technology, power transmission, industrial subcontracting and services as well as cutting-edge technologies. ADFCA officials participating at the fair will showcase the body's achievements to global audiences and invite them to explore the opportunities that the emirate offers.

ADFCA spokesperson said: We are participating at Hanover once again with a view to bring more global attention to the tireless efforts that it is making in the areas of food safety, food security and agricultural modernization on the one hand, and to attract and facilitate global investments and involvement in the areas of food and agriculture on the other."

"The Emirate of Abu Dhabi is uniquely congenial for investments and international cooperation by virtue of its openness, sound development policies and excellent business climate. There are immense opportunities in the emirate for international investors to come in and build businesses, especially in the spheres in which ADFCA is involved in. The most recent evidence for this was the first ever SIAL exhibition held in Abu Dhabi last year. SIAL Middle East, the regional edition of a globally leading food industry fair, saw $250 million worth of business deals being inked, an indication that the emirate and the country are a vibrant and welcoming destination for business ventures in food and agro-industries," he pointed out.

The spokesperson added that ADFCA had hoped to reach out to international investors in these fields and use the Hanover fair as a vantage point from which to solicit the best of business acumen and technical knowhow from around the globe to partner with Abu Dhabi in her ambitious project for the future.

The Abu Dhabi Economic Forum will take place at the fair tomorrow (April 5), led by the Department of Economic Development. The Forum will detail on the strategies of economic development of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the upcoming years and inform interested parties about possible business, cooperation and investment opportunities in the region. A number of high-ranking representatives from political and economic authorities as well as business men, including ADFCA's official spokesperson, will present a general view of the business environment and the pre-conditions for a successful market entry.
