The Awareness Section in the Communication and Community Service Division at Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) executed a comprehensive awareness program through its participation in the summer activities at the different centers belonging to the Abu Dhabi branches of the Girl Guides Association of the UAE as well as at the summer center of the Al Asail School for primary education. This was within the framework of joint work and cooperation with other entities in the country with the objective of reaching ADFCA's messages to all sections of the society.

The awareness program targeted girl students with various aspects of food safety. 'Zadna,' an animation program for awareness drives focusing on food and general health was also screened during the program. The program touched upon the good practices in food habits such as washing hands, healthy breakfast, methods of food preparation and other healthy ways of dealing with food.

The program was marked by a good deal of fun and lively interaction by the girls. The presence of a couple of cartoon characters, Sultan and Sahhi, brought much cheer and excitement, besides the gifts and contests that helped a fuller understanding of the issues.

At the end of the program, CD-ROMs of the animation cartoons, coloring pens and stories of the cartoons were given away in order to better inculcate food safety messages in the minds of the students.
