ADFCA continues its activities in ADIBF attracting good number of visitors

Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) stand in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) witnessed good turnout of visitors including students and parents in the first and second day.

ADFCA is showcasing a number of its latest publications and leaflets on a variety of topics related to food safety, agriculture and environment through its activities held at the event venue in Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center.

The stand provides games and interactive educational activities for students by which the food control body aiming at effective awareness dissemination about food safety. During the first two days of the event, several student groups participated in the fun-filled educational activities, scientifically designed to attract young minds. Basic principles of food safety, safe and healthy food practices and many other important topics were delivered through these activities.

A group of orphan children visited ADFCA stand on the first day of the event, being part of a program coordinated by Red Crescent, and participated in the activities.

Mohammed Al Fardan, Acting Director of Communication & Community Service Division of ADFCA said, the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair has become one of the top leading events in the region which celebrate culture and knowledge.

"Inspired by the directives of H.H. Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of UAE, especially by his call to celebrate 2016 as the Year of Reading, the event has gathered toppers in the publication industry worldwide in order to create a perfect platform for younger generation to nurture their skill to read and acquire knowledge" he said.

According to him, the participation of ADFCA reflects its commitment towards spreading food safety knowledge and awareness among various sections of the society being part of its efforts to build a sustainable food sector in the emirate.

He said, through the activities, ADFCA team is interacting with huge number of students on a variety of topics ranging from safe food handling habits to protections of natural resources. He urged public to visit ADFCA stand in the event in order to have latest scientific knowledge in the area of food and agriculture.
