By using waste water and more water-efficient technologies and crops, managing water demand and using alternative sources of water, the MENA region (which is the region that uses the least renewable water, but withdraws the most water), we can move up the tables. The benefits of using waste water are both environmental and socio-economical ranging from:
- The reduction in effluent disposal problems,
- Supply of nutrients as fertilizer
- Improvement in crop production during the low rainfall season and
- Economics returns which are higher than fresh water useage
