The Photonic Fence is poised to revolutionize the monitoring and interdiction of harmful insect incursions in agriculture and other pest control markets. The technology uses optoelectronics and lasers to create a "protected zone". When an insect flies into the active zone it is classified by the target validation engine using its unique flight characteristics, including shape, size, velocity profile, wing beat frequency, etc. The Photonic Fence tracks the target's flight and, using lasers, disables those deemed to be vectors or pests.
