This regulation specifies the sanitary and technical
requirements that must be adhered to for the construction and operation of
commercial animal establishments in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The objective of
the regulation is to ensure the fulfillment of food safety requirements,
contribute to the implementation of animal welfare requirements, strengthen the
biosecurity system, develop and sustain livestock and aquaculture and enhance
its contribution to food security in the emirate, in addition, it provide for
standardized control procedures for slaughterhouses through the implementation
of effective inspection procedures that ensure achieving the best standards of
responsibility towards protecting both animal and human health.
