ADFCA holds workshop on mechanism to implement GCC food control system at borders

​Border Control Division of Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority has organized recently a workshop on how to implement GCC food control system in controlling imported food at the border entrance points of the country situated within Abu Dhabi emirate.

The workshop shed light on the features of the prevailing GCC system followed at the borders as well as the new GCC Guide to control over imported food. The participants were educated on various kind of procedures such as checking and visual examination of food products, verification of documents, sample collection and coding, releasing of shipment, confiscating products and follow-up of confiscated or rejected products.

The three day workshop was mainly aimed to standardize the inspection procedures at various borders coming under the scope of Border Control Division. The workshop reflexes ADFC's keenness to keep qualifying its staff in order to help them perform their task at its best and to ensure quality of services and satisfaction from the part of customers

The participants also were given insight and practical knowledge on how to confirm availability of documents mandatory for food shipments, verifying the authenticity of documents, determining the type of control needed for different food shipments, handling with violating shipments and the procedures follow them, sample collection methods, processing, dispatching and receiving of samples.
