Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) is now among the world's premier government organizations in terms of inspection standards as the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), the sole national accreditation body for the UK, has issued ADFCA an accreditation certificate as Type A Inspection body in accordance with the recognized International Standard ISO/IEC 17020:2012.

Ahmed al sharaf, Director of Communication and Community Service acting at ADFCA, said the UKAS Accreditation Certificate crowned years of rigorous efforts at raising the bar on the technical as well as professional aspects of the Authority's Food inspection operations. "This not only testifies to the competence and sophistication of ADFCA's inspection regime, but also confirms that ADFCA has been adhering to the highest international standards in all areas of its food operations," he pointed out, adding that the new milestone would strengthen the resolve of ADFCA to seek even higher levels of service excellence and professional finesse.

"Apart from the obvious fact of international recognition, the UKAS Accreditation, which is an independent third party evaluation and recognition of competence, also engenders more trust and satisfaction among the general public in and about the services rendered by ADFCA. Since the jurisdiction of ADFCA comprises areas of vital concern to the public such as food safety and agriculture, this certificate must serve as a source of confidence for the public in our services. This is a reflection of our staunch commitment to serve the public to their complete satisfaction," Al sharaf explained.

The UKAS accreditation means that the accredited body has been independently assessed against internationally recognized standards to demonstrate its competence, impartiality and performance capability.
