The visits on the markets ended up with issuing 11 warnings and 3 fines in addition to seizing and destroying 560 kilograms of food products for not meeting with the standards. The Inspectors found one facility to have met all the standards and requirements while they handed over notice to three shops.

Three restaurants were imposed with fines for violations while 36 were given warnings. In the wake of latest inspections, Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director of Communication & Community Service Division commented: "The objective of our inspection campaigns - both the routine and the surprise ones- is to guarantee the availability of safe and healthy products to public. It also helps us to check the violations and wrong practices as well as gives us chance to directly monitor the commitment levels of establishments in fulfilling ADFCA's food safety requirements and standards."
It is noted that ADFCA has adopted a stringent mechanism to carry out inspection on food establishments in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. The inspectors use high-tech equipments to inspect safety and quality levels of food products available in the market. Officials would confiscate and destroy products immediately, if any items found not suitable for human consumption.
