Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) organized on last Thursday an awareness lecture at the Higher College of Technology in Abu Dhabi on 'Smart Shopping' which was attended by the college's pupils and administrative and faculty members.

The lecture was part of ADFCA's awareness drives led by the Department of Awareness and Education targeting all segments of the community in the emirate. It was aimed at raising awareness in the community on food safety and sound health.

The lecture was aimed at developing safe shopping skills with a view to reduce illnesses transmitted from food. The lecture comprised several tips and advices for smart shopping, beginning with the preparation of a shopping plan. The lecture called upon the audience to focus on buying healthy foods, reading the food labels clearly and checking the expiry dates and choosing reliable outlets.

The lecture was followed by a lively Q&A session and distribution of gifts and give aways.
