South African Ambassador visits ADFCA and holds discussion with Al Shariqi

H.E. Mpetjane Kgaogelo Lekgoro, South African Ambassador to the UAE has recently visited Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority along with a delegation and held discussions on a variety of topics. The Ambassador's visit comes within the frame work of joint cooperation between Abu Dhabi and the South Africa.

HE. Rashid Khalfan Al Shariqi, Director General of ADFCA and other top officials received the Ambassador at the Head Quarters. After the official welcoming,  Mr. Al Shariqi presented a brief on ADFCA and its organizational structure, systems and functioning methods in addition to main external activities and the strategic partners.

During his speech, Al Shariqi stressed the importance of cooperation between Abu Dhabi and South Africa and praised the efforts exerted from both ends to keep it in continuity.

He recalled a recent visit paid by ADFCA officials to one of the orange seedlings nurseries in South Africa to study on the best practices applied, as part of the bilateral cooperation.

He also explained the delegation about the dynamics of investment opportunities in Abu Dhabi and invited them to the SIAL Middle East Food Business Exhibition which ADFCA organizes annually to create an international platform for knowledge sharing, marketing and business deals for the potential players in the sector.

From his part, H.E. Mpetjane Kgaogelo Lekgoro said the visit turned out to be extremely useful in many ways and hoped it might help expand the span of prevailing cooperation between the two ends, especially in the field of food security, food  industry and related investment back in South Africa.
