Awareness lecture for mothers and teachers at Amouriya School

As part of efforts to spread food safety awareness among various sections of society Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority has organized an awareness lecture at Amouriya Girls School, targeting mothers and female teachers.

The lecture, delivered under the title "Food Safety from Farm to Plate" handled various topics related to safety of food including food poisoning, bacteria and its impacts and best practices to handle food items.

The role of ADFCA in maintaining the food safety level in the emirate of Abu Dhabi and how various sections and units coordinate food related activities also explained to the gathering.

A question and answer session followed the lecture.

In this regard, Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director Communication & Community Service Division at ADFCA said, "ADFCA is keen on disseminating food safety knowledge and awareness to various sections of the society. As women have a key role in keeping food safe, we give a prime focus to this section in our awareness programs. In the programs, we share them with scientific knowledge related to food safety covering all stages through which the food moves, including the stage where we buy raw food, transporting, cooking and keeping them in the storage" ​
