ADFCA concludes its participation in GITEX 2017

The Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has concluded its fifth participation within Abu Dhabi Digital Government pavilion at the 37th GITEX Technology Week 2017, which was kicked off on Sunday, in Dubai World Trade Center. During the event, ADFCA presented its latest smart services and technical projects aim at developing its processes and advancing the level of services provided to its public. In addition, ADFCA unveiled its remote inspection system, as one of five leading projects, of which ADFCA presented in the region's high-profile event.


The authority's stand witnessed high interaction from the event's participants and visitors. They were introduced to the smart systems that ADFCA is developing in fields of food safety.  These systems included remote inspection system, visual communication and video-based surveillance system, monitoring system using sensor points, monitoring and tracking system for food trucks and vehicles dedicated for transporting food, and personal hygiene control system for staff.

 
In addition to the foregoing, the authority's systems also included the food tracking system and the virtual reality simulation system, which reflects the authority's keenness to exploit modern technology in improving the services it provides to society and stakeholders. Moreover, ADFCA has developed a smart system allows consumers to use their smartphones to check the classification of food facilities, their rating and a brief report about their services. It also developed smart programmes to train food traders on the best practices to provide safe food.


During its participation at GITEX week, ADFCA has presented its "Centralization of Customers' Digital Services" project, which is based on improving the customer's experience and providing special services in a centralized manner to customers. The project also aimed at improving the operational efficiency, reducing efforts exerted in such processes, improving quality of services provided to customers, facilitating procedures for customers. The project will provide innovative solutions in the field of integration of government services, through exchanging the governmental data regarding the establishments' registration service, in a way that precedes the expectations of customers.


ADFCA has received many awards in the field of information technology. It won recently GOV award for the best IT and communication management in the Abu Dhabi government. It also gained the Abu Dhabi Government Excellence Award for the best Geographical Information System and best public services. ADFCA ranked the second in geographic information system among 32 countries. The authority further received another three awards during the 6th Abu Dhabi E-Government Forum ــ Information Security system, Geographical Information System and ID cards application. In addition, ADFCA received the Abu Dhabi Award for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in 2014 and Best Entrepreneurship Initiative in 2013.
