ADFCA spends 89 for awareness in July

Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has spent 89 hours, in July, in order to disseminate awareness among the community's members. These activities contained lectures, seminars, and workshops, as well as an awareness campaign on information security targeted visitors of the charitable organizations, Liwa Festival and ADFCA employees.


ADFCA's activities included the organization of several awareness lectures.  The lectures, which were organized in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra, focused on topics such as "haemorrhagic fevers," during which ADFCA's employees were educated about haemorrhagic fever disease, its symptoms, ways of its prevention and treatment. Besides, the Authority has organized an awareness campaign on information security and a campaign entitled "Safety in Heat, which aimed to raise awareness of staff on the proper practices to be followed during heat waves.


The authority's activities also included three workshops targeting students and the administrative staff of Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Association for future generations. The workshops discussed means of achieving food safety. Meanwhile, attendees were enlightened on the most important food practices to be followed while purchasing, preparing and storing food. They also introduced to their vital role in conserving safety of food.

 

The students, who attended the workshops, were introduced to the most important products of Al Kuwaitat research station in Al Ain. They were briefed on ADFCA's agricultural researches and home garden projects.

 

Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority is organizing variety of activities to spread awareness on food safety, targeting various segments of the community. These activities reflect the authority's keenness to conserve the consumer's safety through organizing a series of awareness activities by its various sectors and throughout the year.
