ADFCA to participate in GITEX Technology Week 2017

The Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) announced it will participate in Abu Dhabi Digital Government pavilion at the 37th GITEX Technology Week 2017. GITEX, the most important smart technology event locally and regionally, is set to be hosted by Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) over five days from the 8th to 12th of October.

 

ADFCA's participation comes as part of its commitment to meet the aspirations of the wise leadership to promote the concept of knowledge-based economy through effective and sustainable digital transformation.

 

In this regard, Saeed Jassim , the Acting Director of Communication and Community Service of ADFCA, said: "We will participate for the fifth time in a row in the GITEX Week, with the aim of promoting effective participation in regional and international events concerned with information and communication technology (ICT) sector. The authority aims at establishing an effective and innovative system that contributes to creating a sustainable digital base, which reflects the comprehensive development process which is taking place in the emirate at various levels."


Mr. Jassim pointed out that ADFCA is keen on diversifying its public communication channels to ensure that its services can reach the largest number of citizens. In addition, it created digital platforms and solutions dedicated to smart devices and websites, to match the digital progress of Abu Dhabi Government.

He stressed that ADFCA strives to improve its public services, as well as reflecting the standards of local and global institutional excellence on all its services. Jassim further added that the authority is enhancing efforts exerted by its various departments, to provide the best services that meet the aspirations of the leadership in achieving the highest levels of satisfaction and happiness among customers. Furthermore, he pointed out that these efforts came in light of the general orientations of the state aim at transforming into smart government and promoting the distinctive position of the UAE regionally and internationally.

Jassim noted that the authority's participation in GITEX 2017 is a perfect opportunity to interact with customers through highlighting its smart applications dedicated to serve the food, livestock and agricultural sectors in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. In addition, the event will be an opportunity to introduce the public to the authority's e-portfolio, which was developed within the authority's strategic project aimed at raising the level of services provided to the public in line with the technological progress witnessed by all sectors in the country, particularly the service sector.


ADFCA has received many awards in the field of information technology. It won recently GOV award for the best IT and communication management in the Abu Dhabi government. It also gained Abu Dhabi Government Excellence Award for the best geographical information system and best public services. ADFCA ranked second among 32 countries in geographic information system in San Diego. The authority was received other three awards during the 6th Abu Dhabi E-Government Forum ــ Information Security system, Geographical Information System and ID cards application. In addition, ADFCA received the Abu Dhabi Award for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in 2014 and Best Entrepreneurship Initiative in 2013.
