ADFCA organizes Communicate With Leaders- 2014 program

Strategy & Performance Sector at  Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has organized Communicate with the Leaders Forum recently at its headquarters in Mohammed Bin Zayed City to facilitate a platform for creative discussions.

The program that underscored ADFCA’s keenness to create positive work atmosphere and to improve service deliveries by bringing leadership and employees together to discuss important topics and latest updates in various domains was attended by top officials including the Director General HE Rashid Khalfan Al Shariqi, CEO’s and other directors of organizational divisions.

In the opening address, HE Rashid Khalfan Al-Shariqi, the director general highlighted the importance of keeping such forums in the schedule given its pivotal role in escalating the performance levels of employees by creating positive and creative environment in the organization as well as contributing in strengthening  relationship among staff.

He praised the extensive support ADFCA received by the board members this year and hoped it might bring in positive results in the year to come.

In his address to the gathering, Khalifa Al Ali, CEO of Strategy & Performance Sector shed light on the prime achievements ADFCA marked this year in food safety, agriculture and animal wealth sectors.

The list of achievements he presented included successful inspection campaigns, veterinary treatments, best customer satisfaction levels, administrative and newly implemented human recourses systems in addition to fruitful organizing of a number of international events and winning of global awards.

He said Abu Dhabi Emirate came top in terms of food safety levels in a study carried out recently by an international agency, adding to ADFCA’s credit.

He counted obtaining ISO accreditation and bagging of Middle East Award for Municipality Excellence in the bouquet of achievements to ADFCA’s credit, this year.

According to Mr. Ali, veterinary section at ADFCA attended 1.5 million treatment cases while carried out 2.6 million vaccination during the past six months. The number of inspections figures as 56,000 and agricultural transactions accomplished this year come as 246,000 in numbers.

While referring to the main achievements in human recourses field, he said last year 136 employees joined ADFCA and the division organized a total of 145 training programs for developing the work force.

Surveys carried out by ADFCA this year showed 89% as the overall customer satisfaction level while employees’ performance satisfaction figured as 90%, he pointed.

ADFCA participated in a number of international events that brought in positive results contributed in fulfilling  the set objectives, such as World Water conference & Exhibition and International Agricultural Innovation Forum, which is considered the esteemed destination for global agricultural innovations.

SIAL Middle East food exhibition, one of the bench mark event organized by ADFCA this year that served as the global showcase for some 1000 exhibitors from food business across the globe, witnessed near about 17,000 visitors and ended up with business deals that crossed $544 million. Emirates International Date Palm Exhibition, co- existed the SIAL attracted more than 15,000 visitors while the business deals made during the activities figured as AED180 million. The ‘Agricultural Environment’ section at Zayed Heritage Festival prepared by ADFCA became the one of the prime attractions of the event highlighting the importance local crops and cementing the consumer trust on the home-grown agricultural items through a number of activities.

He informed the gathering that total 1142 food establishments have been covered so far in the much-discussed campaign ‘Salamat Zadna’ which was launched to ensure food safety in small-scale food businesses in Abu Dhabi.

Also presented before the forum were the ADFCA’s policies on various subjects such as ‘Agricultural Productivity’, ‘Water’, ‘Prevention and Control over Animal Diseases’ and ‘Surveying and Sample Collection’.

Discussions were done on each programs, targets ,achievements and policies in which employees and top leadership actively engaged.
