Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has begun accepting applications from animal wealth owners interested in joining the fodder support program in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi if they have all the necessary documents.

The first batch of new beneficiaries of the program in its first phase includes two segments: farm owners who own animal wealth in their farms and the owners of random animal farms who want to move their animal wealth into their farms.

Those interested in taking advantage of the program can visit ADFCA main office in Mohamed bin Zayed City or the customer service centers of ADFCA in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region.

Fodder will be distributed after verifying all the documents and after the random animal farms being shifted to proper farms in coordination with the relevant municipal authorities.

Mohamed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director of Communication and Community Service at ADFCA, called upon animal owners to ensure the quality and suitability of animal fodder that they buy in the market so they do not fall prey to frauds.

Al Rayssi cautioned that fodder of unknown origin sold illegally might be contaminated and could seriously affect the health of the animals. He advised animal owners to choose the appropriate fodder for the animals as per their age, health conditions, productive cycles and so on.

Al Rayssi said that the various types of fodder � of animal, plant or industrial origin � would have to be stored according to the correct methods to make sure that it does not get contaminated or spoiled.  "They must be kept in the proper environs so their quality and nutritional value are not affected. Proper documentation is also important and a registry with details of the date and place of purchase etc has to be maintained," he added.
