Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has today organized community awareness events under the aegis of Auwn as part of observing the World Food Day. World Food Day falls on October 16 and is observed under the slogan 'Sustainable Food System for Nutrition and Food Security.' 

A group of ADFCA staff members took a round of the workers areas around the office to distribute food gifts to workers and to impart awareness information to raise their understanding of food safety. 

Saeed Jasim, Acting Director of Communication and Community Service at ADFCA, said the authority also organized in association with Abu Dhabi Community Police events pivoted around food safety and the importance of healthy food. This was at the International Community School in Abu Dhabi. Students were visited during the morning assembly and given gifts, ADFCA awareness publications and Zadna animation film. The pupils were also introduced to ADFCA's role. Questions from the pupils were also answered.  

Saeed Jasim added that ADFCA had called upon its staff to follow a healthy diet. Fruits baskets were distributed among the staff with a view to encourage them to take to healthy foods.
