HH Hazza bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, General Manager of the office of the Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region, paid a visit to Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority's stand at the Al Ain International Agricultural Exhibition 2014, which is held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohamed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region.

Sheikh Hazza was briefed on the services offered by ADFCA for the farmers and animal breeders in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. He appreciated the sterling role played by the Authority and its achievements.

ADFCA is taking part in the exhibition with a view to achieve some of its primary objectives. Mohamed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director of Communication and Community Service at ADFCA, said: "Through our participation, we are trying to attract the visitors' and participants' attention to the Global Summit for the Information Society Award 2014, for which ADFCA has been shortlisted and is in need of votes from the public in order to win. The project with which ADFCA is hoping to win the award is about smart agriculture."

"We hope to explain the voting method for the award and to strengthen the patriotic feelings among the people so they are encouraged to support a national organization to win a major international prize. We also acquaint the public with the wide range of services offered by ADFCA for the farming community. We showcase miniatures of model farms, greenhouses, irrigation methods and others, in addition to the products of the Authority's research stations such as citrus fruits, vegetables, honey and dates. Also included are pest control methods," he explained.

ADFCA stand at the exhibition is also doing awareness drives through the distribution of publications and tips about food safety, agriculture and animal wealth.
