ADFCA organizes lecture on food safety at Al Ain University campus

Forty students participated in a recent lecture program organized by Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority at Al Ain University as part of its food safety awareness plan targeting various sections of society.

University Dean and other top academic personnel were present at the program conducted by the Educational & Medical Institutions Unit representing ADFCA.

The program was started with a detailed presentation shedding light on ADFCA and the key role it plays in guaranteeing safety and quality of food handled everywhere in the Abu Dhabi emirate.

Officials at ADFCA explained the students the food safety principles as well as best practices based on approved scientific knowledge to be followed while handling various types of food.

Students were given special instructions on how to protect themselves from possible food poisoning risks. Publications that containing food safety  knowledge and tips that promote healthy food practices were available for view and distribution.

While commenting on the program, Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director of Communication & Community Services said : "ADFCA is keen on reaching out to various sections of society to disseminate food safety awareness. In its efforts to guarantee a food sector that characterized by high safety levels ADFCA has developed a comprehensive awareness plan befitting diverse sections -especially the student community'

He said ADFCA leaves no stone unturned to find out best possible means and platforms of communication to spread its message directly and more effectively to wider sections of audience.

University Dean gave away the certificates of participation to the students.

In his turn, he praised ADFCA for its varied efforts to raise food safety awareness among the students as well as for its initiatives to keep the pace with the advancement seen in the food sector globally.
