Food Safety Awareness lecture for new Muslims

Communication & Community Service Division at Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has organized recently an awareness lecture for New Muslims registered at Zayed House for Islamic Culture.

 In the program held at the headquarters of Zayed House, Saeed Jasim Mohammed, Awareness Section Manger at Communication & Community Service Division delivered introductory speech in which he highlighted the role both ADFCA and Zayed House playing in imparting awareness to various sections of the society.

Dr Hamid Ragab Orban, Animal Production Specialist at the Livestock Sector of ADFCA spoke on the topic 'Islamic Food Safety Practices' in which he explained about the concept of food safety in modern times in addition to how it evolved in Americas and Europe.

He cited verses from Holy Quran and contexts from Prophet's (PBUH) life to assert that Islamic tradition has given high importance to the quality and safety of food.

A question and answer session followed the lectures. Participants expressed their interest to know more about food practices in Islamic Tradition by benefitting from such programs in future.
