The Control and Livestock sectors of Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority have jointly organized an awareness meeting for small scale poultry farmers in Al Ain in order to educate them on best and effective management of the activity.

Farmers, poultry breeders, doctors, technical staff working in commercial chicken farms, representatives of veterinary medicine companies and ADFCA officials participated in the program.

Two lectures were held to educate the new comers in the industry of which the first focused on the good practices in the broiler chicken farming to maximize the production. The second one shed light on the licensing procedures for the small scale production activities in Emirate.

The open session followed the lectures discussed many aspects of the activity as well as the measures to be taken to make the activity more productive in order to contribute in the bio-security and the efforts to provide safe and quality food while assuring better financial returns for the farmers through better marketing and competitive presence in the exports.
