ADFCA meets with companies that supply food products to Abu Dhabi schools

Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority represented by the Hospitals & Educational Institutions Control Unit has organized a consultative meeting with food businesses that supply food to Abu Dhabi schools in the wake of the new academic year beginning.

Officials representing Abu Dhabi Education Council, Health Authority- Abu Dhabi, Department of Economic Development, Abu Dhabi Quality & Conformity Council, Institute of Applied Technology and Abu Dhabi Center for Technical & Vocational Education & Training participated in the meeting of which the main objective was to educate the companies on health and food safety specifications and requirements as well as other regulations in practice in the country.

During the meeting, the participants were briefed about the work and scope of ADFCA in addition to various achievements obtained in the area of food inspections.

ADFCA systems and procedures need to be followed by food facilities were explained in details in order to enhance smooth running of businesses in sync with the rules and regulations in force, to ensure public health and food safety.

In the open session, commonly repeated observations noted down by the officials during inspection campaigns were reviewed and much weight was given for the discussion on how to improve the situation.

Officials noted down the suggestions and opinions from the part of participants, in a vow to improve ADFCA services towards its customers in the food sector.
