ADFCA partakes this year’s Abu Dhabi International Book fair

In line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of UAE to observe 2016 as the Year of Reading and being part of the continuing efforts to raise public awareness on matters related to food safety, environment and agriculture, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has finalized its plan to partake in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair to be held from 27th April till 3rd May at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center.

While commenting on this, Mohammed Al Fardan, Acting Director of Communication & Community Service Division of Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority said, the annual book fair has evolved as one of the biggest event in the region which reflects the Abu Dhabi leadership's vision to make the capital a hub and destination for book lovers and publication giants from across the world.

He said ADFCA will showcase its publications which deals with a range of topics related to food safety, agriculture and animal wealth, environment protection and rationalized consumption of resources as part of its efforts to raise public awareness.

According to him ADFCA stand in the book fair will have shows and other recreational activities for the visitors being part of spreading the message of food safety, safe food practices, good agricultural practices, safe shopping habits and wise use of resources. It includes an essential food safety program which helps in teaching the correct food safety habits through board games.

He urged the public to visit ADFCA stand in the book fair in order to know the latest knowledge and researches in food safety and agricultural sectors.

It is noted that ADFCA has launched a campaign under the slogan 'ADFCA reads' for supporting the 2016 Year Of Reading campaign and to encourage employees and general public to read and learn and to contribute in the country's developmental process in the area of knowledge and culture.
