Being part of efforts to ease the control activities over food transported through boarders, Abu Dhabi food Control Authority (ADFCA) has organized a workshop for clearance companies working at Guwaifat border crossing in which representatives of twenty establishments participated.

The workshop, which was organized aiming to strengthen the mutual cooperation between ADFCA and the clearance companies was attended by a representative from Customs Center in Guwaifat border

The workshop tabled many topics related to the effective and smooth execution of control activities at Guwaifat border such as inspections over imported food shipments, taking the shipments to warehouses, sample collections, insurance for shipments and individuals, violations related to food transportation in addition to the commonly committed mistakes from the part of clearance companies.

The workshop which allocated ample time for opinion sharing for participants noted down a number of suggestions and new ideas.

The suggestions included creating specials email ids for the clearance companies for the smooth communication with ADFCA, updating the companies with latest circulars and decisions, holding routine workshops annually, reviewing the prevailing procedures for shipments returned back to the country and insurance provision for transit shipments at fixed rates.
