Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has participated this year's Earth Hour Campaign which was celebrated on Saturday (March 19) worldwide.
In this regard, Ali Yousef Al Saad, Acting Director of Communication & Community Service Division at ADFCA said: "We joined our hands with the world community for this global campaign to save the planet from the negative impacts of global warming and climate change. The campaign holds the same spirit of what the UAE leadership has been teaching us from the very beginning, which can be translated to the practical life in the form of wise use of resources especially the power, seeking alternative and sustainable ways to reduce environment pollution and the protection of species on the wedge of extinction. We believe that supporting such moves is a great service to humanity"
He said ADFCA had urged its employees and general public to actively participate in the campaign by switching off lights and unnecessary electric equipment for one hour between 8.30 pm and 9.30 pm on Saturday (March 17)
As the protection of environment and the planet earth is everybody's responsibility, general awareness campaigns have its role in bringing positive changes in people's lifestyle, he observed.
It is learnt that ADFCA has given good support and promotion for the global campaign through its internal communications as well as its external communication channels including the Social Media.
