Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority has denied the authenticity of the information shared through a video clip posted recently on social media related to the hay bundles distributed by the authority.

ADFCA sources said the allegations the video clip raised are wrong and is nothing but a futile attempt to tarnish the positive image of a reputed government organization with best track record.

In the video, a man is seen saying that the compressed hay bundles distributed by ADFCA contains amounts of sand added to increase the weight of the product. He is also seen filming his worker unleashing the bundle and putting the hay in a metal riddle to show the gathered amount of sand allegedly added in the bundle.

ADFCA clarified that the nice green object he calls sand is nothing but the powder of leaves and twigs collected through various process for compressing and storing. Being part of the hay, its value includes in that of the bundle and can never be considered as an outside element, ADFCA said.

ADFCA said what is spread through the video is totally false and unscientific information and does nothing other than misguiding the farmers and creating unwanted confusion among public.

ADFCA urged public not fall prey to these kind of rumors and never to share or forward such information without cross-checking with authorized government entities.

People can contact any time at 800555 to know information or to clarify any kind of doubts related to food or agricultural products and services. The inspection wing at ADFCA is well-equipped to carry out rapid investigations and come up with right information and to clear confusions.
