Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority has successfully concluded its participation in GITEX Technology Week which was kick-started last Sunday in Dubai World Trade Center. ADFCA participated in the region's high-profile technology event for the fourth time being an active member in Abu Dhabi e- Government pavilion. ADFCA stand which featured its latest smart services and technology projects witnessed good number of visitors and grabbed best viewer appreciations.

One of the main projects shown in the exhibition was the one by which ADFCA automated the field inspection operations utilizing hazard method with the objective of easing the distribution of tasks related to risk of food activities in comparison to the requested inspection, creating a data base on food factories in the emirate, setting up a system to manage food facilities in addition to develop an integrated platform for risk-based inspections and to provide ADFCA the latest technologies that market demands for. Through this project, titled as Control & Customer Service Management Program, ADFCA also aims to have a mechanism to verify data in the central customer data pool as well as to implement a mobile inspection system which is compatible with various portable devices and across different platforms.

Another important IT project that was on the show was the Animal Identification & Registration Project which the authority introduced last April with the objective of improving the system to control animal diseases and to ensure safety of the local animal products and achieving the capability to track animals' health status. Other objectives of this project are automation of inspections on animal holdings and slaughterhouses, transforming functions to smart applications, building perfect linkage between numbering system and the portal and other smart applications, creating central data pool for customers and in-house capacity building to support systems and applications.

The recently updated smart services offered by ADFCA also gained much appreciation from the viewers. These smart services are outstanding with its capacity to save time and effort for customers and to ensure smooth delivery with much perfection and flexibility. Now ADFCA customers can avail many of these round-the-clock services without queuing up in the customer services centers.

It is noted that, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority has bagged many recognitions and awards, in the national and international levels, for its technologies and related projects. Its IT& Communication Division has recently been entitled for .Gov award in the category of best IT department among the Abu Dhabi government authorities and organizations. Abu Dhabi government excellence awards for the best implementation of Geographical Information Systems and for best services offered to public, second place in the implementation of Geo-Spatial Information Systems (San Diego) and awards for Information Security system, Geo-Spatial Information system and for implementation of ID cards (Abu Dhabi Government Forum) are the other important recognitions ADFCA has been entitled for recently.
