ADFCA honors strategic partners at Agriculture Oasis in Zayed Festival

Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority has organized a get-together for its strategic partners at the Agriculture Oasis, the authority's stand in the Zayed Heritage Festival now running in Al Watba. Discussions over challenges in the field and its solutions as well as a honoring session for the strategic partners were held in the function attended by HE. Rashid Shariqi, Director General of ADFCA and other dignitaries representing several entities and organizations.

In his opening address HE. Rashid Al Sahriqi applauded the valuable contributions from the part of ADFCA's strategic partners in the efforts to serve the society and bring happiness in to their life. He said joint work with the strategic partners has strengthened ADFCA over the past year and has substantially contributed in making the society more confident and safe as well as it boosted the economy considerably.

"To develop agriculture and marine wealth sectors as well as to achieve food safety we need to maximize our efforts and strengthen the mutual cooperation by creating effective partnerships between strategic partners and to develop it continuously to support us to execute the strategic plan and to fulfill the requirements and priorities of ADFCA being a globally-known organization in the field of food and agriculture" said Al Shariqi.

During his speech he highlighted 10 priorities ADFCA is focusing in order to achieve prosperity and comfort of life among the society. According to him the main ADFCA priorities are lead subsidies and agriculture development programs to achieve sustainability, enhancing bio-security system to prevent disease and pests, optimal activation of control role in agriculture and food safety and promoting policies and legislations to achieve food safety and agricultural sustainability.

He observed that better partnership management and periodical updating of data-base is essential to keep the coordination smooth and to pinpoint partner's aspirations and opinions in determining the timing and nature of initiatives and government programs.

He also stressed the need to have a good understanding among strategic partners about the requirements of Abu Dhabi Plan made between ADFCA and various strategic partners in order to achieve ADFCA vision, mission and strategic goals.

In the end of the function, HE. Rashid Shariqi honored each and every strategic partner attended in the function by giving away the mementoes and appreciation certificates.

 It is noted that, in the path of achieving food safety and sustainability of agriculture sector ADFCA has taken onboard several local, national and international partners. General Secretariat of the Executive Council - Abu Dhabi, Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, Abu Dhabi Quality & Conformity Council, Abu Dhabi Food Security Center, Abu Dhabi Farmers Services Centre, Environment Agency– Abu Dhabi (EAD), Al Dhahra Holding, Jenaan Investment, Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport, Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, Tadweer, Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council, Health Authority – Abu Dhabi,  Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company, Musanada, Department of Finance, Abu Dhabi Systems& Information Center, UAE Ministry of Health & Prevention and International Center for Agricultural Research in Dray Areas (ICARDA) are the main entities that are having strategic partnerships with ADFCA
