Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has organized various activities on the occasion of World Day For Older Persons which corresponds to 1st October, at its headquarters in MBZ City.
The programs which were organized under the title "You Are Our Asset" was attended by HE. Dr. Mariam Hareb, Executive Director of Policy & Regulation sector in ADFCA in addition to other high placed officials in the authority.
In her opening speech, Dr. Mariam pointed to the importance of observing such a day dedicated to the elderly people in the society and the efforts to highlight the leading role of our parents and grandfathers in shaping the world we are in.
She said each end everyone have to recall their childhood and the seamless care and support our parents gave us and think about how we can honor and give them care in the weak years of their life in line with the teachings of the Holy Book.
She said our parents who are now in their old age were exemplary in their loyalty to the nation and were exceptional in nourishing the values and culture in our lives.
She also pointed to the unparalleled efforts from the part of UAE government towards ensuring the welfare of senior citizens in the country by providing various services and supports ranging from education to old age care.
It is noted that ADFCA has been keen to participate in all kind of national and international events and occasions that are having community content and that call to social and humanitarian causes.
