Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority has urged consumers to take extra alert while transporting food from market to home during summer. The authority asked to follow food safety instructions in order to be safe from perishing of food and change in temperature which will adversely affect health.

For this ADFCA has started a social media campaign with the beginning of Ramadan educating public about safe food transportation tips.

The authority warns consumers not to mix meat products with vegetables or fruits in shopping cart in order to avoid cross contamination. For avoiding the variation in the temperature levels, consumers are asked to pick milk and milk-based products only in the end of shopping.

ADFCA reminds consumers to leave home without any delay after shopping for keeping the temperature unchanged.

"Transport food only in an air-conditioned car and never put food products in the outside trunk" read one of ADFCA food safety messages on the social media.

ADFCA urges consumers to follow safe shopping instructions such as avoiding mix up of food and detergents or chemicals in the shopping bag, consuming raw food without delay, avoiding consumption of fast food after two hours of purchase, separating raw food from ready-to eat items, careful reading of food labels before purchasing and avoiding to leave frozen food in room temperature for long time.

It is noted that ADFCA is educating public big lessons related to food safety through inviting attention to some simple things which are having big impact on human health.
