More than 4000 visit ADFCA stand in the Book Fair

Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has concluded the activities at Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF 2016) with its stand marking huge visitor turnout and interactions. Near about 4300 students including groups from various rehabilitation and care centers for disabled visited ADFCA stand and participated in various activities designed to impart food safety awareness.

ADFCA stand provided various kind of awareness activities including interactive games and other fun-filled educational programs for children through which the officials enlightened the younger ones on a range of themes and topics related to food safety such as cleanliness, safe refrigeration, cross-contamination and safe cooking.

ADFCA exhibited a number of awareness publications and materials which covered issues related to food safety, environment & agriculture as well as animal wealth. The leaflet prepared to raise awareness among housewives was available in four different foreign languages.

It is noted that ADFCA's participation in the Book Fair comes in line with the directive issued by H.H Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, The president of the UAE which calls for observing 2016 as the Year Of Reading. Being part of taking the spirit of the campaign to a wider sense, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority has launched a year-long initiative under the title "ADFCA Reads" which carries a number of activities that aim to encourage reading among employees and general public.
