Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority has recently organized a workshop to raise awareness on the mid-day work ban at its headquarters located in Mohammed Bin Zayed City.

A number of officials representing food facilities in the emirate participated in the program.

The workshop comes in line with the Law No.42 of 2009 issued by HH Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces pertaining to environment, health & safety management as well as the 'Safety In Heat' campaign recently launched by Abu Dhabi Occupational Health & Safety Center (OSHAD) cooperating with Health Authority of Abu Dhabi and UAE Ministry of Labor.

The workshop shed light on the precautions business owners and managers should have to take care of to ensure safety of workers during summer.

The program stressed the need to strictly maintain the ban on work during the time between 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm in order to save our work force from the bad effects of being exposed to sun openly.

The program shared participants with several health points to be taken care of in order to minimize the diseases resulting from heat stress and other situations during summer.

It is noted that mid-day work ban in the country was started in July 15 and will be continuing up to September 15.
