ADFCA Delegation Visits Ireland Food Safety Authority

A delegation from Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) recently visited the Food Safety Authority of Ireland. The visit was in the framework of bilateral relations and technical and scientific exchange between the two sides.

The delegation, representing various specializations such as retail, catering, hotels and food control at border crossings, was briefed on the monitoring mechanisms in Ireland.

The delegation also visited the Health Services Council, the Health Authority, the Department of Agriculture and Food, Health and Safety Authority and the Marine Laboratories, during which it was briefed on recall and traceability as well as food alerts.

Mohamed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director of Communication and Community Service at ADFCA, said the visit was undertaken in the framework of the agreement between ADFCA and the Irish Authority for cooperation in various spheres of food safety and agriculture. "The cooperation between the two sides encompasses a wide variety of areas such as food safety enforcement, research, policy and regulation and crisis management," he explained.
