Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) took part in the 'Abu Dhabi Reads' program organized by the Abu Dhabi Education Council, aimed at encouraging reading among pupils from the local community.

The participation of ADFCA in the program consisted of a number of events in Al Ain and the Western Region, including the screening of the Zaduna animation series about washing hands, food labels, healthy practices and other aspects of food safety. It also comprised cultural and recreational contests, advices, awareness tips and distribution of booklets and gifts.

ADFCA team accompanied the children in an intelligent shopping tour in Al Ain Mall to help them understand the right methods of identifying healthy food, storing it and telling raw foods from dry ones.

Saeed Jasim, Acting Director of Communication and Community Service, said participation in the program was part of the Authority's initiatives at strengthening food safety awareness in the society. "Our participation, which began in April, was welcomed by the people and the pupils, who benefited from the information imparted. We are committed to do all we can to achieve our goals of safe and healthy food for all," he added.
