Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) celebrated the 42nd National Day of the UAE in the presence of HE Rashed Mohamed Al Shariqi, Director General, senior officials and the staff in an atmosphere marked by warmth, happiness and fraternal feelings.
HE the Director General said: We are celebrating together today and on this occasion convey our greetings and congrats to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Their Highnesses the Members of the Supreme Council.
He said the UAE made many achievements in diverse fields thanks to the wise leadership that follows in the exalted footsteps of the late father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. "The spirit of unity and togetherness is becoming stronger every year as our leadership spares no effort in raising the country's flag aloft at different levels in order to give a decent and prosperous life to all those living in this country. That is why we see so many different nationalities living in our midst," he added.
Al Shariqi stressed the need for patriotic feelings and persistence in following the footsteps of the leadership to make the UAE one of the best among the comity of nations. He also congratulated the government and people of the country on the UAE being selected to host the Expo 2020, a major global event.
The celebrations, held in association with the National Documentation Centre, comprised the screening of a documentary on the history of the UAE and a photo exhibition about the country. There were also gifts and traditional delicacies to make the occasion memorable.
