Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has issued a closure notice to Caravan Corner Fish in Musaffah Commercial for consistent violation of food safety rules in spite of repeated warnings. The outlet will remain closed until all the reasons behind the punitive action are rectified.

Mohamed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director of Communication and Community Service at ADFCA, said that the inspectors of ADFCA found the outlet to be violating several rules of hygiene, in addition to other instances of utter disregard to the law. "And the outlet persisted with the violations despite several warnings and violation slips issued within this year itself," he explained.

Keeping the boxes of fish near the washroom, freezers without the side glass, dirty cutting boards, not having invoices from the suppliers and workers not having completed the required training were among the reasons that made the Authority order punitive closure of the outlet.

"Surprise inspections are being conducted at all food outlets. We will not allow any food establishment, small or big, to play with the safety and health of the consumers. We have repeatedly called upon the general public to inform us if they noticed any food safety violations. We assure that immediate action will be taken against anyone found flouting the rules," Al Rayssi stressed.
